Windy's Colorful Litter -
SOLD |
||||||||||
|
Windy had 4 puppies April 26, 2007. Two boys and two girls. Two are a tan color (one male and one female), one black (female) and one very pale, tan-cream (male).

The puppies: The four puppies, seen above, are quite a mixture of colors and coat types. Sunshine has a very thick coat that is almost white, but has tan highlights. I am sure he will fade to all white. Midnight appears to be a dark black and since she come from a line of non-fading blacks, may never grey. The two tan puppies are most unusual as they have the same white markings. Some breeders call this color combination a parti, but they clearly are not partis (requires white over 60% of the body). Sunshine and Sandman will probably have long legs, and would be classified as small miniatures. The other two will either be large toys or small miniatures.
The puppies are almost seven weeks today, and they have matured into typical poodle puppies. This is a fun litter where the puppies are really into play. When I come into the room and call them, they all come running. They are let out of their enclosure and come and greet me with many kisses. I lay down on the carpet next to them, and they are all over me. They love to jump up and kiss my nose and pull on my beard. Sunshine likes to take his paw and give me a 'high five.' Midnight grabs my finger and drags it around the room. The two tan puppies like to 'attack' and then scoot backwards in mock retreat. These puppies are ready for a permanent home. The males are $400.00 and the females are $450.00.

Sold -- This is Midnight. Sold to a couple in Columbus, GA.
He is the smallest in the litter. She will probably get to 6.5 - 7 lbs. She, at five weeks, is a good midnight black, but she could silver (I doubt it as her face is not white). She has two white paws and a flash on her chest. She also has her mother's distinctive chin mark. Midnight is the most adventuresome puppy in the litter, wondering all over the room when I let her out. She is very good at playing "spider" (played with my hand as the spider), jumping on the spider and chewing on my fingers. She likes to cuddle up close and have her tummy rubbed. She is going to be a heartbreaker. $450.00 (sale pending)

Sold -- This is Sunshine. Sold to a Couple in Athens, Georgia.
He is a very white, tan-cream with no markings. As he gets older, he will probably fade to pure white. He will probably top out at 7 to 7.5 lbs. Beautiful wavy hair with a thick coat that almost rivals a Bichon. Sunshine comes out of the enclosure prancing like a quarter horse. He is the first to eat (solid food) and the last to go home. He would rather play with me than his litter mates. I think he would make a very loyal companion to someone who would give him the time. $400.00

Sold - This is Honey. Sold to a woman in the Atlanta area.
She is an unusual looking girl. Her base color is tan (making her some kind of cream), but her chest is all white, her paws white, and a white spot on top of her head. She will probably top out at 7 to 7.5 lbs. Honey was the shy one in the litter, but seems to have much more adventuresome. She loves to roll over for a good tummy rub. She is going to be very affectionate. She has this cute way of jumping backwards in mock retreat, then running back for more fun. She love to play with Sandman. The two compete for access to my nose to give kisses. $450.00

Sold -- This is Sandman. Sold to a couple in Kennesaw, Georgia
He is very similar to Honey in color, but lacks the golden cast to his coat. Note that his chest is white all the way to his belly. He will probably top out at 7 to 7.5 lbs. He will be fairly tall. He is the most vocal of the litter, making cooing sounds. Like Midnight, he is very good at the game "spider", jumping at my hand as it 'walks' across the floor. He loves to have you make sounds for his benefit, rewarding you with kisses. $400.00

The Parents:
Windy ( I need a better picture) is a blue poodle. Blue dogs are a faded black which is almost grey. They are born blue, that is they do not fade with age. Windy has a white mis-mark on her chest and belly which she has passed to three of her offspring. These markings are fairly common in poodles. Windy is very sweet, somewhat shy, and quiet. She is proving to be an excellent mother. The puppies are in a corner of my bedroom, and I almost never hear them cry. Casper is a Ice White toy poodle of 7 lbs. He was the father of the Bichon Poos, which were the sweetest puppies we have ever had. These also, should be sweet puppies. He is a proven stud (at least 5 litters) that invariably produces good puppies with good personalities. This was a new mating, so we did not know what to
expect. Windy is a small, Blue Miniature. She weighs 8
lbs, is slight in
build, and too tall to be a toy. She is a tall,
French style poodle and Casper is more German (short legs). The tan puppies have extensive white markings,
including a white chest, white feet, and a mark on top of the head.
They are similar to our toy, River,
without the darker ears. However, they do not appear to be
phantoms or partis. This set of markings seems to be fairly
consistent in dogs that have it, as I have found other breeders that
have seen this type of puppy.
