Deidre's' litter of poodle puppies

Deidre is a CKC registered Miniature Poodle. I say miniature, she has short legs and might slip in as a toy, but has the size and weight of a miniature poodle. She was born a Sable Poodle with black tips to her hairs, but has faded with age to a cream. You can still see traces of the sable coloring in her ears, probably because she carries the mask gene. Her pedigree lists several silver poodles, but I imagine some of those must be sables. Deidre is very friendly and affectionate. We have found that some of our customers prefer the short legs, and she has the shortest legs of all our poodles. Deidre is shown below guarding her puppies (first litter). They are not quite old enough to leave the security of their home and it's heating pad. The picture on the right shows what remains of her sable coloration in her ears and face.

Red Head Willie, the Sire:

Willie is a CKC registered red poodle, He is about 7 lbs (about 11" tall). His name is a misnomer as he has white on top of his head, not red. His color is best described as rust red, a color he passes to most of his puppies Willie has very long legs and is very energetic spending his day roaming his large pen. He also came from a kennel and remains a bit shy. I sit with him every day, and he is very upset if I miss a day. Dogs are not supposed to make long term relationships, but Willie cries for his Butter Cup, these two were totally attached. Butter Cup is gone, but we have found Willie three new girlfriends in Deidre, Matti, and Robin but it is just not the same. He is a well proportioned small miniature poodle with a rich rust red coat and dark ears. His coat would cord if let grow long. He passed his color on to his children. Even though he is a miniature poodle, he has produced several small toys. Note that Willie has held his color with age even in the sun. We have kept one of his son's, Riley (by Butter Cup), who produces many of our apricot puppies.

Rosie <- click picture		Rosie is a Red Sable with a black face. The first one of these we had, we named Jar Jar after the Star Wars character. They have been Jar-Jars ever since. Our experience with these pups is that since they are brindles, the black will go with the first grooming (some will remain in the ears). The color will be a dark red-apricot. Pictures are at 4 weeks. CKC registered. Puppy will be ready October 30, 2010.

Maisy <- click picture		Maisy is also Red Sable with a black face, but her color is a lighter shade of apricot. Kiera <- click picture		Kiera is a dark black puppy with no markings. She will probably remain black. She will probably mature to a small miniature or large toy. 	Lacy <- click picture	Lacy is an apricot, toy poodle. Lacy is a quiet little puppy that loves to be picked up and have her tummy rubbed - she obligingly sticks our her tongue (see the second picture). The color in the second picture is close to her natural color. Lacy will probably be a toy poodle, but may get just a little larger. CKC registered. Pictures at 5 weeks. Puppy will be ready October 30, 2010.

Deidre's Toy Poodle Puppies sired by Red Head Willie

Deidre had five puppies September 18, 2010. She was again bred to Red-Head Willie in order to get the wonderful red sables she is famous for. She gave us one red sable, one apricot, one black and tan phantom, and two black puppies. All were girls. Why is it that the girls always have the young ones in the middle of the night? I did not get any sleep that night. Preliminary pictures of the litter are up - camera problems. They will be toys or small miniatures.

All puppies come with CKC puppy registration papers and health guarantee. They have had their tails docked. They are current on their de-worming (Panacure every two weeks) and will get their first vaccination when they are 6 weeks old.
